Background

Eastern Canvas Products was located in Ward Hill, Mass. The manufacturing facility, Rebmar Inc., was located in the town of Morovis, Puerto Rico. All the government contracts solicitations, engineering support, purchasing, sales, marketing etc. was done at Eastern Canvas Products and the actual manufacturing was sub-contracted to Rebmar Inc. Both the companies were owned by the same person.

In late 2009, both Eastern Canvas and Rebmar were closed due to lack of contracts from the government and sub-contract works which Eastern/Rebmar did for customers, such as ILC, MSA, Switlik etc.

In June 2008, S & V Tech. Sales and Manufacturing Services Inc. was formed and assumed all the functions of Eastern Canvas Products and all the assets of Rebmar Inc. were bought out and the manufacturing is now being performed in the town of Vega Baja, PR.

The President of S & V (S. K. Sen Gupta), former C. O. O. of Eastpak Inc and Eastern Canvas /Rebmar has extensive experience in management, engineering, product development and manufacturing of Sewn Canvas Products. Now all the contracts come under S & V and now SG Apparel and the manufacturing is being done at the plant in Vega Baja, PR.

Products, which are and were manufactured under the supervision of the President of S & V and SG Apparel, are;

• Life Vests MK-1
  for Switlik Parachute Company


• M40 Carriers
  A government contract awarded to Eastern Canvas for a period of five years was made under the supervision of Sen Gupta. There were no quality issues and the shipments were made always on or ahead of the schedule. Contracting Officer: Missy Whit.


• Mine Safety Products
  We did sub-contract work for Mine Safety Products and manufactured MCU Hoods, MCU Carriers (XM 30), Head Harnesses and Skull Caps. Contracting Officer: Deanna Morisini, Cheryl Miller, Sally Mosay and Rich Simpson.


• ILC Dover
  We did substantial amount of work for the government in making Gas Masks for a period of five years. All the manufacturing, quality control and on time shipping was under the supervision of Sen Gupta. Contracting officers was Sempere.


• Diamond Brand
  For several years we made several products for Diamond Brand, such as, Squad Bags, Maritime Assault Bags, Medic Leg Rigs, Individual Bags, Light Straps, Chest Pouches, Night Scopes, Carriers etc. Contracting Officer John Stahl.


• Propper International Inc.
  In years 2009 thru 2011, we manufactured over 100,000 units of Assault Bags..
